Dear families
As it is the start of a new term, here are a couple of reminders for families who use our Breakfast Club.
The number of places that we have available at Breakfast Club are set by the pupil to staff ratios required to ensure the children can be cared for safely. For this reason, it is vital that families book in advance, and check their bookings to make sure that your child is booked on, before turning up on the day. Unfortunately we can not take any child who has not been booked in, whatever the reason, so please do not turn up with your child anyway. Also, it is not the fault of the Breakfast Club staff if you have not booked your child on, so please do not argue with staff or treat any member of staff in a disrespectful manor.
All bookings must be made by 7.30pm the night before. If you need to cancel any bookings please contact the school office so that the space can be cancelled, and available for another parent. We appreciate that it is not ideal that parents can not cancel bookings themselves, and hopefully Arbor will change this in the future. There is no facility available to operate a waiting list for Breakfast Club, so can only advise parents to book their children in as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Again, we appreciate that booking in advance is not always an option for some parents, but we have to maintain the correct pupil to staff ratios for the safety of the children.
Please do cancel any bookings no longer required with the school office, as it is frustrating when children do not turn up, and we have known that other families needed the spaces, but the club was full. Obviously if children are unwell in the morning the booking can not be cancelled in advance, so other families wouldn't have been able to book on.
If you want your child to eat breakfast they must arrive by 8.10am at the latest. If children arrive after 8.10am it does not give the staff enough time to provide a breakfast, and have the children and staff finished, and ready for the school day, by 8.35am. Any child arriving after 8.10am can still attend, but will not be able to have a breakfast provided.
Families are welcome to drive onto site for Breakfast Club between 7.25am and 8.10am and must park on the playground. Everyone must observe the 5mph speed limit and be patient and don't drive too close to other cars. Staff will be stopping and parking in the car park, and parents need to allow staff the time and space to do this. Everyone must use the school drive considerately. It is only wide enough for one vehicle. If you can see someone coming up the drive from the car park before you have turned into the school, please wait until they have left. Equally if someone is coming down the drive and into school, please reverse back into the car park until you are able to drive off site. No one should be mounting the verge or paths and causing damage to the school planting, or impact the safety of any pedestrians walking along the path.
There are still issues with some parents driving too fast on site, and anyone who can not drive considerately may be asked not to drive onto the school site at all.
If you have any questions, or wish to discuss any of the above further, please contact the school office.
Thanking everyone for their cooperation in advance.
